Trends I'm taking into 2025
I love a good trend, and I’m not letting go of these from 2024!
WaterTok
Yes, flavored water! WaterTok is a constant trend in my book because it’s all about making hydration fun and flavorful! I love it when people share creative ways to make drinking water more exciting by adding different flavors and ingredients. It’s become a popular trend on social media, with folks posting their favorite water recipes, tips for staying hydrated, and even showcasing stylish water bottles. It’s a great way to encourage people to drink more water and stay healthy! Is anyone else with me on this one?! Here is a silly TikTok I made. Enjoy the chaos.
Less is More (when it comes to makeup)
This makeup trend is all about embracing natural beauty with a "less is more" approach. I love that brands are starting to focus on enhancing your natural features rather than covering them up. (2016, I’m talking about you!) My favorite parts are the light, dewy foundations that let your skin breathe, subtle highlights to give you a natural glow, and soft, neutral eye shadows. Brows are kept natural and slightly groomed, and lips are often just a swipe of tinted balm. (When I can keep up with them) The goal is to look effortlessly fresh and radiant, celebrating your unique features.
Girl Math
Girl math is a fun and playful term used to describe the humorous and sometimes illogical ways people justify their spending or budgeting decisions. I totally stand for girl math. For example, someone (like myself) might say that if they return an item they bought, the money they get back is "free money" to spend again, or if they buy something on sale, they're actually "saving" money, even if they didn't need the item in the first place. It's all about finding amusing ways to rationalize purchases! If it makes you feel better about your financial choices, let’s do it!
Bows Everywhere… (thanks Ariana Grande for the Galinda prep)
Let’s dive into the dictionary. A coquette bow is a symbol of the coquette aesthetic, a fashion trend that celebrates femininity and self-expression.
So, if you’ve gone into any malls or my shopping cart on Amazon, you’ll find the delicate coquette bows everywhere these days. The playful, feminine look has taken over the 2024 fashion trends, and it’s going to spill over into 2025. These bows can be found on dresses, blouses, accessories, and shoes.
Wicked!
No one mourns the Wicked! I recently watched the Wicked movie without any prior knowledge of its storyline. I must say, it was an enchanting experience even from the front row of the movie theater the day after Christmas. I want to be friends with both Elphaba and Glinda, who start as unlikely friends with contrasting personalities. LOATHING! The storyline is captivating, filled with unexpected twists and turns that kept me engaged throughout. The visual effects and set designs were stunning, creating a magical world that felt both familiar and new. The music was another highlight. I didn’t know the songs before seeing it other than what was being promoted for the film. The memorable songs added depth to the characters and their emotions and might add all the pink and bows that I loved to see.
Whether you're a fan of musicals or just looking for a good story, I’d definitely say this movie is definitely worth watching now that is it on certain streaming platforms, but nothing beats a movie theatre.
Confidence
I have a lot of posts in draft and my self-esteem has dipped this holiday season. I don’t know if it’s SAD, Seasonal Affective Disorder, or just the certain stage I am at in my life. I’m working on the basics. Staying active, eating well, and keeping up with hobbies and activities I enjoy can make a difference. A reminder to you: Take care of yourself, okay?
But I’m working on some neat posts I hope you’ll stick around for!
